“MOVISTAR”, EXPECTS TO REACH THE TOP IN THE SECOND LEG
The Spanish team trained in the Table Bay’s Race Area with 30 knots of wind
Tomorrow Monday at 12 hours –Spanish time- the second leg of the Volvo Ocean Race will start with the inshore race in Cape Town. The Spanish team, “movistar”, hopes to reach the top places in the classification of the race.
The boat sailed her final training in the Table Bay’s Race Area, with a 30 knots southeast winds. Afterwards, the crew and the shore team took part in a game called “the invisible friend”, a presents giving and they took a photo of all the team in the America’s Cup Challenge base, Shoholoza. The crew will be composed by Bouwe Bekking, Pepe Ribes, Xabi Fernández, Iker Martínez, Stu Bannatyne, Andrew Cape, Chris Nicholson, Peter Doriean, Jonathan Swain, Noel Drenan and Mike Jouvert. Tomorrow, it is expected heavy conditions, so Pedro Campos – movistar’s CEO who would be the skipper in this inshore race- has handed over his position to a person with a greater physical strength. The expected weather conditions will test the boat’s resistance and the physical conditions of the crews. Today, Sunday, it was a day off for the whole team and it was just done a last cleaning of the hull, where the “movistar” is berthed.
