GERMAN GP. QUALIFYING PRACTICE

Fecha 17-07-2004

DANIEL PEDROSA

(6th, 1’25”666): “We’ve made good use of the session, completed a lot of laps and I’m satisfied with the result. It’s a very small circuit and the times here are very close, but we’re just a few tenths off pole even though it is my first day here on a 250. I don’t like this track too much but on a positive note I feel more comfortable with the 250 than I did with the 125. I am pleased to have improved my grid position with respect to the first day in Brazil and I think that if it rains tomorrow we have a pretty clear idea about what we need for the race. Even so, I would like to keep working on it and iron out a few more details”.

HIROSHI AOYAMA

(12th, 1’26”747): “Goodness me... what a tough circuit! This morning I was completely lost – I didn’t know where to go. Especially in the section of long corners where you spend a lot of time leaned over to the left – I just didn’t know where I was. I was trying to get some references with every lap but it was like being in space. However, in the afternoon I improved a bit and I feel better about it now. I think I have considerable room for improvement, so I hope to move up a few places for the race”.

ALBERTO PUIG

(Team manager): “It was a long session for us – as they always are on the Friday of a Grand Prix with everything we have to test. In any case, Dani did well. We already know that half a second is a lifetime here but sixth place is not bad and we’re hopeful of improving and preparing the race well, which is the important thing. Hiro’s finding things a bit more difficult, but as always he is making considerable progress and I’m sure he’ll take another step forward tomorrow”.
