DANIEL PEDROSA

(4th): “We have had a problem with the rear tyre – it got punctured by a nail and was losing air throughout the race. I could tell something was wrong from the first lap and and I couldn’t do anything other than give my best. In the end I’ve hung on and finished fourth. It’s not the result I wanted but, depending on how you look at it, it’s quite good because the same thing happened to Dovizioso in the 125 race and he had to retire. At least I made it to the finish line.”

HIROSHI AOYAMA

(9th, 1’42”709): “I ran straight on the fourth lap and when I got back on track I’d lost a lot of places. Even so I put together a good rhythm in the low 43s and finished ninth. If I hadn’t run off track I think I could have been in the second group, but we can’t change the result now and we have to get ready for Motegi. I’m looking forward to racing at home.”

ALBERTO PUIG

(Team manager): “What happened was a real shame but looking at it positively, Dani finished fourth and fought to the end. He could have ended up with no air at all. If you look at it in the cold light of day, Dovizioso had to stop and Dani finished fourth. You just can’t control these things.”
